ALOHA!
Among the most popular food on the Banan menu is eating ice cream made from bananas out of a pineapple. (Yes, out of!)
So if you want to do something in Waikiki that’s so Hawaii, well, there you go! Have ice cream made from bananas at Banan in Waikiki!
You will want to get the pineapple yacht!
Banan is proud to use plant-based locally grown fresh ingredients.
You can also get shave ice at Banan, which is another very Hawaii thing.
There are a couple of Banan locations in Waikiki.
Below is about the Banan that is practically directly on Waikiki Beach!
There is also a Banan in the Waikiki surfboard alley, a path that leads to Waikiki Beach.
Waikiki Beach extends for around 2 miles long, and there is a Banan that is near the far end of Waikiki Beach, on the Hilton Hawaiian Village side. (This is also the side of the Waikiki fireworks! In fact, a perfect spot to watch the Waikiki fireworks is the beach in front of Banan!)
More specifically, the beachfront resort to reference for the Banan along Waikiki Beach is the Outrigger Reef.
So if you’re staying at the Outrigger Reef, it’s an easy walk to get to a food spot in Waikiki!
Banan is basically at the Outrigger Reef, which is at the end of one side of Fort DeRussy Beach.
If you are staying at the Outrigger Reef, Fort DeRussy Beach is your beach! Or, walk a little further and just next to this beach is also the Duke Kahanamoku Beach which is the beach in front of the Hilton Hawaiian Village which is a Waikiki Beach snorkeling spot!
You can very easily walk from the beach to the Banan.
Also located right next to Banan are the Steak Shack and Tropical Tribe, more popular Waikiki Beach food spots!
You can buy your food and then eat at the beach, one of the Fort DeRussy Beach Park tables, or the grassy area of the park!
Before you head to Banan, you want to be sure to walk out onto the “pier” that’s directly in front of Banan!
Well, that is if you want a chance to see turtles in Waikiki!
This is probably one of the most reliable spots to see turtles in Waikiki!
As you are walking out, have a look into the water to see if you can spot a turtle!
How to get to Banan at Waikiki Beach
You can get to this part of Waikiki Beach by taking the Oahu bus. The nearest bus stop will be a couple of minutes away.
Or, depending on where you’re staying and how much you’re willing to walk, you can of course just walk!
Whether you’re arriving by bus or arriving by foot from street side, you will look for the path to Fort DeRussy Beach Park.
If you take the path near the Outrigger Reef, then once you arrive at Waikiki Beach, Banan will be at the building directly to the left!
Or, if you are coming from the Hilton Hawaiian Village, then you can walk the sidewalk directly along Waikiki Beach to get from the Hilton Hawaiian Village to Banan!
👆 You can walk along Waikiki Beach to get from Hilton Hawaiian Village to Banan. This is looking in the direction of the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
Once you arrive at the building that Banan is at, you will also see Steak Shack.
You will walk up the stairs and Banan is right there!
👆 Your trip to Banan will come with views of Diamond Head! (In the picture above, that’s Diamond Head off to the right!)
👆 Off to the left is the path you’ll walk down if you arrive to Waikiki Beach from street side. Then, you’ll go up the stairs to get to Banan.
