Hi there!
There is a main road that loops around Grand Teton National Park.
This full loop is the 42-mile Grand Teton Scenic Loop Drive.
Basically, Teton Park Road is one part of the loop.
Teton Park Road is the western side of the loop.
This is the side that is closer to the Teton mountain range, which means that driving the Teton Park Road allows you to get closer to the Teton Range than the eastern side!
Along Teton Park Road, you’ll also find the start of some of the most popular hiking trails in the Tetons.

MAP: Teton Park Road

Explore the map of Teton Park Road. Also explore the interactive Grand Teton National Park map.
Generally speaking, you can think of Teton Park Road as from the Jackon Lake Junction and Jackson Lake Dam Overlook to the Moose entrance of Grand Teton National Park. (Grand Teton National Park has many entrances.)
Yellowstone National Park is north of Grand Teton.
If you are driving from Yellowstone National Park to Teton Park Road, then the Jackson Lake Junction is where you will arrive onto the Grand Teton scenic loop road. From here you can easily choose to go the western route (Teton Park Road) or the eastern route to either go south or make the full loop. (map)
If you were to drive the Teton Park Road from the Jackson Lake Junction to Moose WY without any stops, it would take around 40-50 minutes.
For reference, Moose WY to Jackson WY is around a 20 minute drive.
From the Jackson Lake Junction, you can continue driving south on the western side of the loop. Or you might do a quick drive to Oxbow Bend Overlook first, and then continue driving south on the western side of the loop if you’ve decided on starting off with Teton Park Road.
Driving from Old Faithful in Yellowstone to the Jackson Lake junction is around a 1.5 hour drive. (map)
Driving from the West Thumb Geyser Basin in Yellowstone to the Jackson Lake junction is around a 1 hour and 5 minute drive. (map)
Driving from Old Faithful in Yellowstone to Jackson WY by taking the Teton Park Road would be around 2.5 hours without any stops. (map)

1. Jackson Lake Dam Overlook

When driving in the direction of Moran to Moose, you’ll drive across a bridge over the Jackson Lake Dam, and then there will be a parking lot on the other side of the bridge.

2. Chapel of the Sacred Heart
This is an operating chapel in the summer, and “regular weekend Masses are celebrated June through September.”
If you drive down the road to Chapel of the Sacred Heart, then aside from the historic chapel, there is also a picnic area with views of Jackson Lake.
I did not stop here, but see the pictures.
3. Signal Mountain Road
You’ll turn off the main road to drive down the road to the Signal Mountain summit.
I did not drive the Signal Mountain Road, but see the pictures.

4. Potholes Turnout

If your first experience of driving through Grand Teton National Park is from Moran to Moose along Teton Park Road, or from Yellowstone to Jackson along Teton Park Road, then the Potholes Turnout is a worthy first stop to make!
You’ll get views of the Teton Range from the Potholes Turnout parking lot, and you can also take a trail out into the field to walk with views of the mountains!

As you continue driving, you will see epic views of the Teton Range!

5. Mount Moran Turnout

The Mount Moran turnout is another spot that you can stop for a look at the Teton Range.

7. Jenny Lake Road at the North Jenny Lake Junction
You’ll turn off the main road at the North Jenny Lake Junction to turn onto Jenny Lake Road.
Jenny Lake Road is also where you’ll find the trailheads for the Leigh Lake Trail and String Lake Trail. There’s also a picnic area at the Leigh Lake trailhead.

And then, you’ll keep driving Jenny Lake Road and it will become a one-way road continuing on the Jenny Lake Scenic Drive.

9. Jenny Lake Overlook

It’s along the one-way road of Jenny Lake Scenic Drive that you’ll find the Jenny Lake Overlook.

As you keep driving on Jenny Lake Road, you will end up back at Teton Park Road.
10. Cascade Canyon Turnout

If you skip the turn-off onto the Jenny Lake Scenic Drive, then you’ll come across the Cascade Canyon Turnout.
If you do the Jenny Lake Scenic Drive, then basically this turnout is along the portion of the road that you miss on the Teton Park Road.
So if you want to make a stop at this turnout, after you’ve completed the Jenny Lake Scenic Drive, you’ll seemingly do a little backtracking to get here.

11. Jenny Lake Visitor Center

The Jenny Lake Visitor Center is a big Grand Teton National Park visitor center along Teton Park Road.
12. Road to Lupine Meadows trailhead

The Taggart Lake Trail is a popular Grand Teton hiking trail, and you’ll see the Taggart Lake trailhead parking lot as you’re driving along this section of Teton Park Road.

This is also a spot where you can pick up the biking trail.

15. Menors Ferry Historic District
This is another historic district in Grand Teton National Park.
I did not go to this, but see the pictures.

And that’s a bit about the Teton Park Road drive!
After you finish up Teton Park Road, you can continue more of the 42-mile Grand Teton scenic loop drive!
Even if you don’t want to do the full loop because you want to continue onwards south to Jackson Hole, you might want to at least drive a little further to the iconic Mormon Row of the Tetons!
