Basically THE main reason for doing the Jenny Lake Scenic Drive is to go to the Jenny Lake Overlook in Grand Teton National Park.
This is a spot to see amazing views of Jenny Lake!

Jenny Lake is a kind of big lake, and there is even the Jenny Lake Loop Trail that loops around the lake for around 7.6 miles.
So this means that there are many spots that you can see Jenny Lake.
You can see Jenny Lake without hiking!
While hiking is one of the ways to see Jenny Lake, it’s not the only way! If you drive the Jenny Lake Scenic Drive, then you can see Jenny Lake without hiking.
If you want to go to THE Jenny Lake Overlook, and you want to be able to drive to Jenny Lake with a quick stop for amazing views… then that’s when you will want to do the Jenny Lake Scenic Drive.
You can drive to Jenny Lake!
To see Jenny Lake without hiking, you can drive the Jenny Lake Scenic Drive. As you are driving along the one-way Jenny Lake Scenic Drive, you’ll come across a parking lot. That’s the parking lot for Jenny Lake. From there, it’s a short walk to see Jenny Lake!
So the drive to Jenny Lake Overlook is the Jenny Lake Scenic Drive.
This means that it’s the Jenny Lake Scenic Drive that will allow you to see amazing views of Jenny Lake with a short walk from the parking lot.
The Jenny Lake Scenic Drive is a one-lane road, and it’s a one-way road.
There will be amazing mountain views as you are driving along Jenny Lake Road to get to the one-lane Jenny Lake Scenic Drive too!
And there will be amazing mountain views as you are driving along Teton Park Road to get to Jenny Lake Road!
Getting to Jenny Lake Road
Looking at google maps, the Jenny Lake Scenic Drive is part of Jenny Lake Road. (map)
You will find the turn-off for Jenny Lake Road located on Teton Park Road.
Teton Park Road is one of the main roads through Grand Teton National Park. It’s the western side of the 42-mile Grand Teton Scenic Loop Drive.
You will be looking for the North Jenny Lake junction.
If you are driving Teton Park Road from north to south, the North Jenny Lake Junction is a little past the Mountain View turnout.
👆 You will drive past the Mountain View turnout along Teton Park Road to get to Jenny Lake Scenic Drive if you are driving from north to south.
👆 As you would see it driving Teton Park Road from north to south. This would be the direction you’d be driving if you’re going from Yellowstone to Jackson Hole.
Once you see the sign for North Jenny Lake junction, you will turn onto that road at the intersection!
And from there, you basically just keep driving to get to Jenny Lake Scenic Drive!

Also note: If you are using google maps to plan driving directions through Grand Teton National Park and it's showing you no driving directions exist, it is probably because of a closed road in the winter! If you are planning ahead for your spring or summer Wyoming national parks road trip, adjust the departure date (default is "leave now") to a random date in the summer!
Driving the Jenny Lake Road to Jenny Lake Overlook
So once you are Jenny Lake Road, you will continue driving with mountain views!
Soon you will come across the Cathedral Group Turnout.
You can make a stop here!
👆 You will drive by the Cathedral Group turnout to get to Jenny Lake Scenic Drive.
And then you will continue driving on Jenny Lake Road with mountain views.
Then you will soon come to an intersection.
👆 You drive Jenny Lake Road to get to String Lake Picnic area, to Jenny Lake Loop Trail, to Leigh Lake trailhead, to Jenny Lake Lodge, and to Jenny Lake Overlook.
And it is just past this intersection that it becomes a one-lane road and you will start the Jenny Lake Scenic Drive!

And then you will start driving the one-lane road through trees.
You will drive for less than 5 minutes and you will see a road that turns off of Jenny Lake Scenic Drive. This will lead you to the Jenny Lake Scenic Overlook parking lot!
And you have reached your main destination of the Jenny Lake Overlook parking lot!
There’s a short trail to get to the Jenny Lake Overlook. You can also walk along the Jenny Lake Trail a bit to get some more views of Jenny Lake!
And then once you’ve taken in the views, you can continue driving along the Jenny Lake Scenic Drive, and it will be a couple of minutes to get to the intersection that meets back up with Teton Park Road.
And then you can continue your road along Teton Park Road and the Grand Teton scenic loop drive!
If you turn right, this will take you to the south towards Jackson Hole, and you will soon see the Jenny Lake Visitor Center followed by the road to Lupine Meadows trailhead.
If you turn left, this will take you to the north towards Yellowstone National Park, and you will soon see the Cascade Canyon turnout.
And that’s a bit about stopping along Jenny Lake Scenic Drive!
