So I happened upon a Jawz fish tacos food truck (there are several on Maui) on the side of the road when I was heading to a beach in South Maui. 

Well, it says they are the BEST fish tacos on Maui…

 

 

And fish tacos are a thing on Maui…

So it means you need to try it if you see it, right?!

Right. 😉

So the spot that I saw the food truck, there wasn’t a designated eating area. People were eating in their cars.

 

 

I got my fish tacos to-go. Which really just means I got a piece of foil to cover the plate.

Then, I went to Maluaka Beach down the road to eat the fish tacos with ocean views!

 

 

I had fish tacos a few times since then, and it had me thinking back to Jawz fish tacos – they were my favorite among the others I tried! (I also had fish tacos at a Hana farm restaurant, a Road to Hana food truck, and a Lahaina food truck.)

 

Since these food trucks are mobile, they might not always be around.

I found a Jawz food truck right near the Oneuli Beach entrance which is on the main road. 

 

 

If you don’t see it on the side of the road, then you might try heading to the Makena Beach parking lot. It seems to be a regular spot there.

 

 

You can make an excuse to be in this part of south Maui where I saw the Jawz food trucks by going to places like:

• Maluaka Beach (turtle town)
• Makena Cove (a somewhat hidden beach)
• Oneuli Beach (a kind of black sand beach)
• Makena Beach (large expansive state beach with a trail to a hidden beach)
• Hoapili Trail (hike across lava fields)

And if you miss the food truck, well, at least you can go to one of Maui’s best beaches! 

If you don’t have plans to be in this part of South Maui, then there’s also a store location in Kihei which is a bit further north compared to the listed beaches. So this means the store location will be a closer drive if you’re staying in West Maui (like Kaanapali) or if you’re coming from a cruise port.
