ALOHA!
So the Road to Hana has TONS of Maui waterfalls.
And you can see a few different kinds of waterfalls.
And that includes…
Being able to stand nearly directly above waterfalls to see them from above!

If this seems interesting to you, you can make a stop at Makapipi Falls as you’re driving along the Hana Highway.
This is an easy-to-access waterfalls, and it can be a pretty quick stop.
And while there are some waterfalls on the Road to Hana that you can see without getting out of the car, you’ll need to park and walk on the bridge to see Makapipi Falls.
🌴
Now…
Map of location of Makapipi Falls
So when you’re driving from Paia (the normal direction to start driving the Road to Hana), then you’ll first drive by a bunch more waterfalls before you even get to Makapipi Falls.
If you download offline maps on google maps, you can follow along on the google maps app with your GPS locator to know when you’re getting close.
The parking area (when you’re driving towards the direction of Hana) will be after you pass the bridge that the waterfalls are under. There’s a decent parking area here. (Relative to the Road to Hana in general!)

The parking area will come right before the road that will take you to Nahiku viewpoint. (The Nahiku viewpoint and wayside a little “side trip” to consider for more scenic coastal views with lava rock formation!)

So once you’ve parked, you’ll walk back towards the bridge.

On the left side, the mountain side, you can see the stream that feeds the waterfalls.

And then you can look down on the ocean side to see the waterfalls from above! And then you can also see the stream continue!

I didn’t really find too good of a vantage point nearby to see the waterfalls from a “normal” view.

It’s said that sometimes the stream that feeds the waterfalls is dried up, so there is a chance that you might not see these waterfalls.
Next up take a drive down to Nahiku Viewpoint!
And those are some waterfalls in Maui on the Road to Hana to consider stopping at!
