This Road to Hana stop at the Wailua Valley state wayside is a Hawaii state park site.

This can be a pretty quick stop. 

It does require climbing some stairs.

 

 

And with that climbing means that you get views from even higher above!

The Wailua Valley wayside is right along the Hana Highway. So you will drive right by it on your way to Hana town, if you’re coming from Paia (the normal way to do the Road to Hana drive).

 

 

There’s a small little parking area. 

 

 

 

The overlook

 

You get ocean views…

 

 

And on the other side you get mountain views too.

 

 

And if you aren’t feeling like climbing stairs, there’s a small pull-over spot on the Hana Highway right near the Wailua Valley wayside.

 

 

You’ll get similar views, it just won’t be from as high up!

 

And that’s a wayside that is a quick stop for a scenic viewpoint to consider on the Road to Hana!

 

Shortly after you pass the Wailua Valley wayside as you’re driving from Paia to Hana, you may want to stop to check out Makapipi Falls where you can see waterfalls from above!
