The Big Island is the best Hawaiian island to see black sand beaches!
But if you’re headed to the Hawaiian island of Maui, then there’s also one of the best black sand beaches in Hawaii at Waianapanapa State Park (aka the best state park on Maui). You can even stay at an oceanfront camping cabin at that Hawaii state park! And then there are some more black sand beaches on Maui.
