There is a swimming beach at Anastasia State Park. You’ll be swimming at a Florida beach in the Atlantic Ocean!

Even if you don’t want to go swimming, you can still make a quick stop (or spend a few hours!) to take in the views of the Anastasia State Park beach.

There are a couple of boardwalks that will give you access to the beach.

Another option if you won’t be swimming, you don’t want to get sand in your shoes, and you want some quick views, is to take in the views of Anastasia Beach from an overlook!

 

 

 

Downtown St Augustine to Anastasia Beach

Cost of going to the Anastasia State Park beach

In order to go to Anastasia Beach, you’ll need to enter the Anastasia State Park.

So the cost of going to this St Augustine beach is the cost of entry into Anastasia State Park. This is around $8 a car for a one-day pass. See current fees.

There is also an annual Florida state park pass that you can buy. For an individual pass, if you will be visiting at least 8 state parks in Florida within a year, it will likely be worth it.

Trip to Anastasia State Park

 

My trip to Anastasia Beach was at the end of November 2021.

The water temperature was posted at the Anastasia State Park entry as 69F degrees. For most people, this is COLD!

 

Getting to Anastasia State Park beach

Anastasia State Park is on google maps. The spot google maps gives for Anastasia State Park is a random spot in the middle of the park.

So to be sure you will get proper driving directions, it could be good to put Anastasia Beach (map) or Anastasia State Park parking lot (map) as your destination. This will get you to the Anastasia State Park entrance.

 

 

So once you have entered Anastasia State Park and paid the state park entrance fee, you can basically just keep driving until you get to the end of the road.

 

 

At the end of the road will be a pretty big parking lot, and that is the Anastasia Beach parking lot.

 

 

 

Trail to Anastasia Beach overlook

And then once you have parked, you can look for the boardwalk trail to the Anastasia Beach overlook!

There are a number of beach access boardwalk trails.

The overlook trail is towards the right side of the parking lot when you are facing the ocean.

And then you can take in the views from the overlook! There are benches so you can sit to and take in the views for a bit.

 

 

If you look behind you, you can see a glimpse of the St Augustine Lighthouse off in the distance too.
