So, what’s a Princess cruise lunch menu like in the main dining room?!
I was on a Princess cruise ship in 2023, and I got screenshots of the main dining room lunch menu. This is below!

In general on a cruise, you will get free food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
There are always free food options for every meal, plus snacks in between meals.
You can get pizza any time, and you can get ice cream any time during the day for free.
There are “premium desserts” on Princess cruise ships for which there is an added fee.
But there are always free dessert options, both in the main dining room and in the buffet.
There is a “juice bar” for extra health and wellness drinks for which there is an added fee.
There are “specialty restaurants” for dinner for which there is an added fee.
You can even get a light breakfast sent directly to your room for free by ordering room service for breakfast the night before.
There are also other food choices that you can get almost any time throughout the day too.
There is a buffet on Princess cruise ships.
You can eat at the buffet during your time on a Princess cruise ship for lunch. This is free.
You can get the buffet for lunch any day of the cruise on a Princess cruise ship.
You can eat at the buffet for breakfast and dinner too. This is free.
You can also go to one of the main dining rooms on a Princess cruise ship for dinner and breakfast. This is free.
And what about lunch in the main dining room?! Lunch in the main dining room is also free.
But lunch in the main dining room is not be available every day.
Lunch is served in the main dining room only on sea days.
You can make dining room reservations for dinner, but you can’t make reservations for lunch in the dining room.
You will just show up to the dining room during lunch hours.
Lunch hours in the dining room tend to be 12pm to 1:30pm.
Buffet lunch hours are longer.
Breakfast hours in the dining room tend to be 7am to 9am.
Dinner hours in the dining room tend to be 5pm to 9pm.
You will want to confirm the lunch hours (and other meals) once you are on your cruise ship.
This information can be found in many places, and one of the easiest places to look is the daily schedule of cruise activities (aka Princess Patter aka “Princess event listings”) that will be delivered to your room every evening. On the back side is a list of hours for different services and venues throughout the ship.

Food on your Princess cruise ship may vary.
But just to give you an idea, here is the lunch menu from the main dining room lunch on my cruise when I was on the Sapphire Princess, for a few of the days!
The lunch menu here is from April and May 2023.
Day 2 of cruise (sea day)

How to see the lunch menu on your cruise
You’ll be able to see the lunch menu once you are on your cruise.
You can use the Princess app to see the menu for the day.
First, since not all dining rooms will be serving lunch, you will want to find out what dining room is serving lunch.
You can see this by looking at the back of the daily Princess activities schedule that will be delivered to your cabin every evening for the next day’s activities.
Then, you can look in the Princess app for the lunch menu of that dining room!
👆 To see the dining room lunch menu once you are on the cruise ship, open up the Princess app and look for “Dine My Way”
👆 Next screen: Go to “explore dining options.” You will be able to select a dining room, and then you can “view menu.” This is also where you can go to see the hours of each dining room. Not all dining rooms will offer lunch, so you will need to find the dining room that does serve lunch.
You can also see the lunch menu on the stateroom TV in your cabin!
