Although there are “premium desserts” on Princess cruises for which you need to pay extra, there are also regular desserts that you don’t need to pay extra for.
There are several places you can get free desserts during your Princess cruise.
There are desserts for free during your Princess cruise in the buffet area.
There is a special dessert section during buffet meal times, so you can look for it!
And during the day when meals aren’t being served, there are also desserts available for free in the buffet area.
Like the late afternoon hours between lunch and dinner.
There are also desserts at the International Cafe, which is usually in the piazza (atrium) area of the cruise ship.
You can also get soft serve ice cream for free on a Princess cruise ship.
And then, if you go to the main dining room for dinner or lunch, then you can also get dessert for free after you’ve finished your evening meal!

The dessert menu below was on a Princess cruise to Alaska, so you will notice Alaska-specific dessert items as well.

How to see the dessert menu on your cruise
You’ll be able to see the dessert menu for the main dining room once you are on your cruise.
You can use the Princess app to see the menu for that evening.
👆 To see the dining room dessert menu once you are on the cruise ship, open up the Princess app and look for “Dine My Way”
👆 Next screen: Go to “explore dining options”
👆 You will be able to select a dining room to see the menu. This is also where you can go to see the hours of each dining room.
👆 Main dining room dinner hours on a Princess cruise are 5pm to 9pm. Confirm this on your cruise. The dining room hours are also listed on the back of the Princess Patter, the Princess cruise entertainment schedule. The buffet hours are also listed there.
