Hi there!
So if you’ll be getting the packages of the Princess Plus or Princess Premier on your next cruise, or you’re trying to figure out if you should get one of the Princess packages, then you may have noticed that “premium desserts” are included as part of these packages.
There is even a premium dessert package if you don’t want the plus or premier package, but you do want 1 or more premium desserts every day!
First, there are free desserts on Princess cruises, so you don’t need to pay extra to get desserts.
There are desserts for free during your Princess cruise in the buffet area, and you can get desserts in the main dining room as well.
You can also get soft serve ice cream for free on a Princess cruise ship.
These types of desserts just come with your cruise without any package.
So then, what is this “premium dessert” that is listed as a perk of getting the plus or premier package?!
Aside from the free desserts that anyone can even without a package, there are also “premium” desserts that people without a Princess package can pay for and get.
And it’s these premium desserts that if you have a plus or premier package, then you won’t have to pay.
So, will you actually want to get a premium dessert during your cruise?

How much does a premium dessert cost on a Princess cruise?
Without the Princess Plus or Princess Premier package, the cost of a premium dessert on a Princess cruise costs around $12. A tip of 18% might be added on to this.
Prices of premium desserts can change, but this is how much it cost when I was on the Majestic Princess cruise ship in May 2023.
What are the premium desserts on a Princess cruise?
On the premium dessert menu of a Princess cruise are gelato desserts called the Da Vinci, the Donatello, the Leaning Tower, La Dolce Vita, the Godfather, and the Michelangelo. These are all really big. Descriptions of these desserts are below!
Once again, the offerings of premium desserts can change, but this was the premium dessert menu on my recent Princess cruise.

👆 You can get a premium dessert called the Da Vinci that comes with a hazelnut chocolate bar, vanilla gelato, raspberry and chocolate sauces, and oreo cookies.

👆 You can get a premium dessert called the Donatello that comes with a key lime bar, vanilla gelato, raspberry and chocolate sauces, and a dark chocolate triangle.

👆 You can get a premium dessert called the Leaning Tower that comes with tiramisu, vanilla gelato, caramel and chocolate sauces, and amaretti cookies.

👆 You can get a premium dessert called La Dolce Vita that comes with New York cheesecake, vanilla gelato, strawberry and chocolate sauces, and marshmellows.

👆 You can get a premium dessert called the Godfather that comes with fudge brownie, vanilla gelato, chocolate sauce, and a florentine tuile.

👆 You can get a premium dessert called the Michelangelo that comes with a chocolate chip muffin, vanilla gelato, raspberry and chocolate sauces, and twirl twister lollipops.
Where can you get the premium desserts on the cruise ship?
On my recent cruises, you could get the premium desserts at the same spot you could get the soft serve ice cream.
Your cruise ship may vary!
If you go to the soft serve ice cream spot and don’t see the premium dessert menu, then surely the crew member working there will be able to tell you where the premium desserts are located!

👆 The Swirls ice cream bar was closed at 10:15am on a sea day during my cruise, but here on the lido deck is where you could get premium desserts on the Majestic Princess! I would guess it opens at 11am.
How many premium desserts can you get for free with a plus or premier package?

👆 If you have Princess Premier or Princess Plus, premium desserts (original or with alcohol) are included in your package. Otherwise, prices are listed beside each treat and for just $2 you can add a shot of your favorite liquor to pair it with.
Free premium desserts with a Princess Plus package

👆 You can get up to 2 premium desserts for free every day if you have the Princess Plus package. My heart hurts thinking about it! 🤣
Free premium desserts with a Princess Premier package

👆 You can get as many premium desserts as you want for free every day if you have the Princess Premier package. My heart really hurts! 🤣
Premium dessert package?!
If the Princess premium desserts look so good to you that you think you will want 1 or 2 every day… there’s a package for that! 😆
Really!
You can get a premium dessert package, you can get unlimited premium desserts for around $12 a day.

👆 If you know you will want 1-2 premium desserts every day, then you can get the premium dessert package.
How to buy the premium dessert package
The easiest way to book the premium dessert package is to log into your account at princess.com.
Then, in the menu > onboard services > food and beverage experiences

Then when you “view options” of the “food and beverage experiences,” you can scroll to look for the premium dessert package!
I did not find a direct way to the premium dessert package through the Princess app.
If you prefer to do it through the app, then I was able to get to it by going to SPA. This is at the very bottom of the screen. After you have clicked on spa, then, at the top to the right of “my booking” you can select “menu” and look for “onboard services and “food and beverage experiences.” If you click the other menu in the blue, it prompts you to log in, and that’s not the right menu. From the app, I did not have to input any log-in info in order to see the premium dessert package.
The app can change, but this is what it was like for me in June 2023! I have a cruise booked in September.
There was a report in June 2023 that not all crew members may be aware of this premium dessert package, so just be prepared for that if they have no idea what you’re talking about. There was also a report that you might have to go to guest services to activate this package. This shouldn’t be a big deal, but just so you are aware!
And that’s a bit about premium desserts on a Princess cruise ship!
I was on a Princess cruise most recently in May 2023. Your experience may vary!
