So there are many 30A beach towns and many beach access points along the 30A Florida scenic highway.
Blue Mountain Beach is one of the spots where you can get public beach access for a 30A beach.
Private beach at Blue Mountain Beach
While there is a section of Blue Mountain Beach that is a public beach, there is also private property right next to this public portion of the beach.
This means that there’s limited beach access.
There will likely be signs informing you of this.
You are allowed on the private beach only if you keep moving. (Meaning, you can make it a beach walk along the shoreline.)

So the way it goes is that along with the private sections of 30A beaches, there are also many public beach sections.
And you can find a public section of beach at Blue Mountain Beach too.
Blue Mountain Beach has a designated parking lot.
For its popularity, it is quite a small parking lot though.
If you’re staying nearby with a bike, then there is also a bike rack at the Blue Mountain Beach parking lot.
Then, after you get to the Blue Mountain Beach parking lot, you’ll head to the end of the parking lot, and you’ll see the path to this Florida gulf coast beach!
You’ll take stairs to get down to Blue Mountain Beach.

More parking for Blue Mountain Beach public access
Aside from the small Blue Mountain Beach parking lot, there are also a number of parking spots along the side of the road on the main road leading to the Blue Mountain Beach parking lot.
If you go to Blue Mountain Beach on the weekend during the day, it’s likely that you may have difficulty finding a parking spot.
If it’s a sunny day with warm weather, it’s likely that it will be more difficult!
So in these cases, it would be best to try to get to Blue Mountain Beach earlier rather than later.
Although of course, you may also get lucky and arrive just as someone is leaving!
Go on a cold cloudy day during the week… chances are you will have an easier time parking at Blue Mountain Beach! π
Beach facilities at Blue Mountain Beach
Most notably beach facilities means that there is a bathroom.
This is at the top of the stairs, at the Blue Mountain Beach parking lot.
There are also basic outdoor beach showers at Blue Mountain Beach so you can rinse off sand.
The South Walton Beach Service Association also provides beach rentals at Blue Mountain Beach.
Lifeguards at Blue Mountain Beach
As per the people of South Walton about Blue Mountain Beach:
Blue Mountain Regional Access has lifeguards during peak season.
