Between the popular Florida Panhandle beach towns of Panama City Beach and Destin lies the Florida Scenic Highway 30A.

Driving the 30A is the slow route to get from Panama City Beach to Destin.

You’ll pass through a number of 30A beach towns.

And one of those 30A beach communities is the town of Alys Beach FL.

If you drive the 30A between Panama City Beach and Destin, you’ll know when you’re in Alys Beach because of the white buildings all around you.

Alys Beach FL is the all white town of Florida with its buildings painted white.

While Alys Beach is known for being a luxurious 30A beach town with a private beach limited to residents and guests, anyone can drive through the town of Alys Beach to see the famous white buildings.

The main road that goes through the town of Alys Beach is the public 30A highway.

 

 

Alys Beach describes itself as a “luxury beach community.”

If you are like me and won’t be doing any luxury living any time soon, then you can still see a glimpse of this iconic 30A beach community by simply driving through Alys Beach FL along 30A.

And of course even if you are unlike me and you live life in luxury now and then or always but don’t have plans to do so in Alys Beach, then you can drive through Alys Beach to see the iconic white 30A beach town too. 😆

I was driving from St Andrews State Park to Destin and did a drive along the 30A. (map)

This is basically driving from Panama City Beach to Destin.

For google maps, you’ll need to route yourself through Alys Beach, as the quicker way from Panama City Beach to Destin will likely have you bypassing Alys Beach and 30A.

Driving through Alys Beach FL

 

Once you are near, first you will start driving through the slightly more commercial Rosemary Beach FL.

Then, as you continue driving you will be driving through Alys Beach FL.

In total, from the first picture you see below starting the drive through Rosemary Beach to the last picture of Alys Beach is less than 5 minutes!

This is driving on the public road of County Highway 30A (aka Florida Scenic Highway 30A) the whole time.

And then around 15-20 minutes later….

Continuing the drive along 30A towards Blue Mountain Beach and Grayton Beach, which are popular 30A (public!) beaches!

 

 

And that’s a bit of driving through the 30A beach community of Alys Beach!
