Hi there!
For a special type of feature in Craters of the Moon National Monument that was created by a volcano, you can go and see the Spatter Cones!

The Spatter Cones are a prominent volcanic feature that you’ll see from a distance as you’re getting closer to it.
These hills called spatter cones are said to have been created by lumps of lava bring thrown into the air and coming back down around a vent to form a mini-volcano of sorts.
According to the National Park Service:
Created during the dwindling stages of an eruption, the spatter cones formed as hot lumps of lava were thrown a short distance into the air only to fall back to earth around a small central vent.
As the still-molten blobs landed on top of each other, they cooled and adhered to nearby pieces to form the walls of what could be considered a mini-volcano.
If you want the easy way to see it, then you can you can see the Spatter Cones as you’re driving through the main road that goes through Craters of the Moon National Monument!
You can make a stop at the Spatter Cones to get out and basically go inside a spatter cone.
You can look down into this mini-volcano and see the hole of the vent!

If you want to hike to see the Spatter Cones, then you can hike the North Crater Trail to the Spatter Cones!
HAPPY SEEING SPATTER CONES OF A VOLCANO!
