Why is Duke Kahanamoku famous?
Duke Kahanamoku is famous for introducing surfing to different parts of the world.
Duke is credited for bringing the sport of surfing to the east coast of the United States, Europe, and Australia.
Because of this, Duke Kahanamoku is one of the most famous Hawaiian surfers in the history of surfing.

Duke introduced surfing to the Eastern seaboard of America, Europe, and Australia.
Duke Kahanamoku has been recognized as Hawaii Ambassador of Aloha since 1912.
