Hi there!
Well, it was completely unexpected, but I saw dolphins at Navarre Beach!
I was coming from Pensacola Beach and headed towards Destin, and Navarre Beach is along the scenic route (passing Opal Beach of Gulf Islands National Seashore)!
After doing a quick look for seashells at another Navarre Beach spot (yes there are shells on Navarre Beach!), I went to the Navarre Beach pier.
I was continuing to walk out onto the pier when I heard someone from down below (seemingly yelling at one of her kids)… DOLPHIN!
What?! Where?!?!
And then I started looking out in search of dolphins, and…
I saw dolphins from the Navarre Beach pier!!
How exciting since I wasn’t expecting it at all!

Are there dolphins at Navarre Beach?
Yes, there are dolphins at Navarre Beach!
But dolphins are wild and they do what they want so there’s no guarantee to see them!
If you get lucky and are at Navarre Beach when they are swimming by, you can see dolphins from the beach and you can see them from the pier!
I consider it complete luck that I just so happen to be at Navarre Beach when the dolphins were swimming by!
It’s like one moment they were on one side of the pier, and the next they were on the other side of the pier, and then they were gone!

But, it does seem like they are frequent visitors to Navarre Beach, because there is a sign about “dolphin-friendly fishing tips” on the pier. So, that does seem to indicate that dolphins do come by Navarre Beach on a somewhat regular basis!
I have now seen dolphins in Florida at Navarre Beach, Everglades National Park (Gulf side in the Ten Thousand Islands by boat), Siesta Key (Turtle Beach), and on the way (by boat!) to Cayo Costa State Park!
It is always exciting to see dolphins because each time it’s completely unexpected!
See below for my short experience of seeing dolphins in the Florida Panhandle!

How I saw Navarre Beach dolphins from the pier
I saw dolphins from the Navarre Beach pier in December 2022. As it goes with dolphin watching, your experience may vary!

So I arrived at the Navarre Beach pier parking lot.
All Navarre Beach parking is free.
I first went down to the beach and walked under the pier.

In addition to lots of pelicans in the water, there was another type of tall bird standing right on the shoreline that made for good pictures! (I do not know my birds so i don’t know the name of it…)
Then I went up for a walk on the pier, which was $1 per person to walk it.
I started walking on the Navarre Beach pier.
Beauty!!

Not very much time goes by when I hear someone yelling “dolphin” from down by the beach!
And so that’s when I started looking for the dolphins and wow!! I see dolphins!

And before I knew it, they were on the other side of the pier, continuing to swim down the shore line towards Pensacola Beach!

If you missed it above, watch the Navarre Beach dolphin video on youtube!
And that’s a bit about how I saw dolphins from Navarre Beach!
