Lake Louisa State Park has many lakes.
And yes, one of those lakes in Lake Louisa State Park is Lake Louisa!
And, there is a beach at Lake Louisa.
This is the Lake Louisa State Park beach.




Lake Louisa is a part of the Palatlakaha Chain of Lakes, along with Lake Minnehaha and Lake Minneola, among other lakes.
Lake Louisa is also near the Green Swamp Wilderness Preserve.

Can you go swimming in Lake Louisa State Park?
Well… that depends on you and how comfortable you are with swimming near alligators! 😜
There is one designated swimming area in Lake Louisa State Park.
And that is the beach along the shores of Lake Louisa. This is a sandy beach.
According to Florida State Parks:
Visitors are welcome to swim in Lake Louisa at the designated swimming area.
Please be aware that no lifeguards are on duty and swimming is at your own risk.
Swimming is not permitted at any other lakes in the park.



But the question is… do YOU want to go swimming in Lake Louisa?!
Because…
There are alligators in Lake Louisa… apparently.


👆 The people at Florida State Parks would like to warn you about alligators in Lake Louisa.
According to Florida State Parks:
Alligators are present along the trails and waterways of Lake Louisa State Park.
They usually eat fish, turtles, and other small animals, but may attack larger animals such as deer.
Alligators have been known to attack humans.
Alligators are dangerous.
Do not swim with alligators.
Do not approach, frighten, or feed alligators.
While I did not see any alligators in Lake Louisa, I did see an alligator at another lake in Lake Louisa State Park!
As a designated swimming beach though, I guess people do go swimming in Lake Louisa!
If you do spot an alligator in the Lake Louisa swimming area, as per the alligator caution sign, you’re asked to report it to a park ranger of Florida state parks!
What the people of Florida State Parks say if you see alligators while swimming in Lake Louisa:
Immediately report alligator sighting in the swimming area to Lake Louisa State Park staff.
You can call, or you can stop by the ranger station at the Lake Louisa State Park entry. The listed phone number of Lake Louisa State Park is 352-394-3969.
Lake Louisa beach picnic area
The Lake Louisa beach area is also the Lake Louisa day use area in Lake Louisa State Park.
And even if you don’t want to go swimming at the Lake Louisa beach, this part of Lake Louisa is nice as a picnic spot or just to sit and take in the views from the Lake Louisa beach!



You can also go for a short walk along Lake Louisa too.


The boardwalk trail to Lake Louisa beach
Once you are in Lake Louisa State Park, you can just follow the signs to the Lake Louisa beach.
This will take you to the end of a road. That’s will you will find the Lake Louisa beach parking lot.
And then from there, you will take a short boardwalk trail to the Lake Louisa beach!




There are bathrooms at the Lake Louisa State Park beach.
There are changing rooms inside the bathroom, along with basic beach showers to rinse yourself off.
And then back to the parking lot after you’ve taken in the views from Lake Louisa beach!
