With Mendenhall Glacier being one of the most famous things about Juneau, there are many ways to get there!
One of the easiest ways to get there is by taking a shuttle to the Mendenhall Glacier.
You can think of the shuttles as just that. Round trip transportation from Juneau cruise port.
The meeting point will be in a location that’s easy to get to when you’re arriving by cruise ship. These shuttles basically operate FOR cruise ship arrivals so you can be rest assured they have made the process easy for you!
The shuttles generally give you 2 hours at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center.
The Mendenhall Glacier trolley is a shuttle.
This will give you enough time to do the Photo Point Trail (do this first quickly to get a view of the Mendenhall Glacier), and then walk to Nugget Falls and back.
If you still have time left, then have a walk up to the visitor center so you can get a look at the glacier from the top of the stairs, and then learn as much as you can about the glaciers of Alaska! The visitor center has some informational things set up.
The other thing you can do if you want to do 2 of the top things that Juneau is known for is a combo tour that includes both time at the Mendenhall Glacier visitor center, as well as whale watching.
