ALOHA!
If you’re looking for a hike that is easy to access and will give you amazing views of the North Shore coastline… well, there is the Ehukai Pillbox Hike!
This is the Oahu pillbox hike that’s known for having a peace sign on a pillbox.
I’ve done the North Shore peace pillbox hike, and here’s what you need to know!

There are a couple of pillboxes around here.
I missed out on going inside a pillbox!
And, hiking to the Ehukai pillbox will also give you vast ocean views along the North Shore!

The Ehukai pillbox hike is one of the best things to do on the North Shore!
The start of this trail is located pretty close to the main road of the North Shore, making it a pretty easy hike to access.
There are a few steep portions on the trail, but otherwise, it’s generally not too strenuous. It’s rated as a moderate difficulty hike.
Make sure you pay attention to where you’re going and where you came from, because it can be easy to get turned around if you’re not careful.
Or maybe that’s just me. 😉
This hike won’t take too long. I was on the trail for around 1.5 hours going at a leisurely pace.
Apparently, part of this trail may or may not be on private property, although when I was there I did not see any clear signs on the trail.
As with all Oahu hikes, do this hike at your own risk!
You might consider bringing along a light picnic lunch to eat with views! When I did this trail, there was a picnic table at one of the overlooks.

PICTURES the North Shore pillbox hike!

To get to this trail, you enter the parking lot of the Sunset Beach Elementary School that is located right off the main road on the North Shore.

The start of the trail is off to the left side as you go into the parking lot.

And then, the Ehukai Pillbox Hike is basically a forest hike that comes with some openings so you can see the ocean!

And that’s a bit about one of the best hikes on the North Shore!
What to do next?!
You can head over pretty much right across the street, and there’s the beach!

Or head further down south on the North Shore coast to Shark’s Cove for some of the best snorkeling on the North Shore in the summer.
There are also food trucks located right near Shark’s Cove, and there’s also a grocery store (Foodland) nearby if you’re looking for cheaper food options.
Foodland is also a spot where you can pick up picnic food to take with you on the pillbox hike!
Or to the north there’s the Kuilima Cove snorkeling spot at Turtle Bay Resort.
See more things to do on the North Shore.
