Parking in Miami Beach can be a hassle!

South Pointe Park is free, but Miami Beach parking is not!

I don’t know much about Miami Beach parking except for what I did on this trip to Miami Beach in May 2022.

But I will tell you how it was for me just to give you an idea.

I saw in Miami Beach with less than 1 hour of paid parking time. (See what I saw with 1 hour at South Pointe!)

I was rushing towards the end as I wanted to get back to my car before my parking expired, but it does seem like you can extend your parking time from your phone, although I did not do this.

The best Miami Beach parking lot for South Pointe Park is the Miami Beach parking lot at the far southern end of Miami Beach. (map)

 

 

Some of the google reviews indicate paying a flat $20 parking rate no matter how little time you park.

I believe I read somewhere else that during the week you can pay hourly, and weekends it’s $20 for parking whether you stay 1 hour or 10 hours.

So you will want to be mindful of that.

And don’t be surprised if you go to pay and you are only given a $20 option… you are there on a $20 parking day!

I went on a Friday morning, so assuming the $20 rate was for the weekend, I tried looking for South Pointe Park parking at that Miami Beach parking lot.

But the parking lot is not that big and there were no spots available.

There were also a lot of spots reserved for valet parking. Also pay attention to those marked parking spots and don’t park there.

So then I left the parking lot and started looking for street parking near South Pointe Park.

But street parking in Miami Beach is about luck!

And, I did get lucky!

Right near the parking lot, there is street parking, which means it’s also street parking that’s right near South Pointe Park.

There was an open spot.

So I parked there.

Miami Beach street parking at South Pointe is $4 per hour.

The Miami Beach street parking near South Pointe Park is $4 per hour, and you can pay in increments of $1.

In 2023, the Miami Beach street parking fee is $4 per hour. Confirm current fees.

You can also pay online once you arrive. You can look near the parking kiosk to get instructions for that.

I paid $3 for parking using the parking kiosk. So I actually was in South Pointe Park for less than an hour.

 

 

And then once you’ve paid for parking, you can start your walk through South Pointe Park!
