Yes, you can watch football games on Princess cruise ships!

You can watch the Super Bowl, NFL games, and even college football games on the cruise ship!

Can you watch the very specific game that you are interested in on the cruise ship?

Well, that you will not know for sure until you get on the cruise ship and look at the activity schedule.

But if it’s a big game, there’s a good chance that you will be able to watch it in one way or another, for free.

 

👆 You can watch Monday night football on a Princess cruise ship. Or Monday afternoon football… on the west coast.

 

I was on a Princess cruise ship for the Super Bowl in 2023.

I am not that big of a football fan (although I will say go lions and go blue), but I did catch the very end of the Super Bowl to see the Kansas City Chiefs celebrating.

It was a cruise from San Diego to Hawaii and beyond.

 

I was also on a Princess cruise ship in September 2023.

I happened to walk by a lounge that was showing an NFL game.

That game was the Kansas City Chief vs Detroit Lions.

It was a cruise from Anchorage to Vancouver.

 

👆 In the daily Princess activity schedule, it showed there was a “college football” game of Kansas City vs Detroit that would be shown in the Vista Lounge during game time. Clearly this entertainment schedule was not created by an American and/or someone with basic knowledge of football. 🤪

 

On another day, I happened to be walking on the lido deck and saw that there was a college football game showing on the big screen.

That was an actual college football game, Iowa vs Iowa State.

 

And so yes, you can watch football games on Princess cruise ships!

 

 

Whether you can watch the football game you want to watch… well, unless it’s a major game, the only way to find out is to step foot on the cruise ship and to check the daily activity schedule.

The “journeyview” section of the Princess app might show the schedule of football games that will be shown on the cruise ship, but in general, you shouldn’t expect that to be a completely updated schedule until your cruise actually starts.

1. Big screen on the open deck

Some football games might be shown on the big screen.

 

 

 

2. Cruise ship lounge

Depending on what other activities are going on and/or what the priority of the football game is, you might find a football game being shown in one of the lounges on the cruise ship.

 

3. Stateroom TV

There are a limited number of live TV channels that you can watch from the comfort of your cabin, and that can include football games!

The Super Bowl was showing on the big screen, but it was actually from my cabin that I saw the end of the Super Bowl.
