When you are in Icy Strait Point cruise port, one of the things to do is to go to the town of Hoonah.

How to get a Hoonah map when arriving at Icy Strait Point cruise port
I just happened to come across the spot where they were handing out Hoonah maps because I was walking to Hoonah.
You can get a Hoonah map even if you are taking the shuttle to Hoonah, but you will just have to make a little detour.
Just past the ticket booth that sells tickets for the Hoonah shuttle, there is a small Hoonah visitor booth.
👆 You can get a Hoonah map at the City of Hoonah Visitor Information booth.
From the Hoonah shuttle ticket booth, you will go to the left of the ticket booth to get the shuttle.
If you want to get a Hoonah map before you get on the shuttle, you want to go to the right, for a walk along the shoreline.
Once you start this walk, up ahead you will see a small booth.
Actually you will see 2 booths.
One is red, and that’s the cruise port security booth.
The other is wooden, and that’s the Hoonah visitor booth where you can get a map.
It will be just a couple of minutes past the shuttle ticket booth!
👆 From Icy Strait Point cruise port, you’ll keep walking and following the signs to the “town shuttle.” This will take you to the Hoonah shuttle ticket booth.
👆 To get a Hoonah map, from the Hoonah shuttle ticket booth you will walk off to the right, toward the water.
👆 You’ll pass an old boat on the way to the Hoonah visitor booth.
👆 The path leading to the Hoonah visitor booth that’s up ahead. You can get a Hoonah map at the small wooden booth.
