Old Indian Trail is one of the great hikes in Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore!
This is a hike that you can do for Lake Michigan views.
It’s a hike you can do if you want to do a sand dunes trail.
And it’s a hike you can do if you want a hike that takes you to the Lake Michigan shoreline!
You can make the Old Indian Trail a hike for Lake Michigan views, or you can go further across sand dunes to hike to the beach.
This trail starts off in the forest and will take you to a spot where you can see Lake Michigan.
From here you can hike further across sand dunes to get to a Lake Michigan beach!
The Old Indian Trail is listed as a 2.5 mile loop, and it will be a little further off of this loop to hike to Lake Michigan.
You may also want to look for colorful rocks at this beach. Although, you just want to LOOK and not take, as this is a protected beach area since it’s a part of a national park.
